Jonathan, one half of @ketogenic_kouple has been keto for 2.5 years and has lost 45+ pounds with diet change alone!

Jonathan knew that he wanted to lose weight and get healthy, so he started cycling. But, he soon realized that he wasn't going to lose the amount of weight that he wanted without making some changes to his diet. That's when Jonathan started keto.

There were times when Jonathan just wanted to quit, but his wife, Heather was his rock and helped him continue to get healthy and strong! Now, Jonathan feels great continuing on his low carb journey.

Q1How did you feel when you first started keto?

I experienced the typical keto flu, but that was largely due to my lack of knowledge about the lifestyle and nutrition in general. Once I got over that, I felt (and still feel) AWESOME!

Q2Were there any times that you wanted to quit? What did you do to stay motivated when it got hard?

There were a few times I just wanted to eat garbage and quit the diet, but my wife, Heather, was my rock to continue being healthy and stay strong!

Q3What advice would you give to someone who is just starting keto?

Research, research, research. It is VITALLY important to do your own research about the diet, about nutrition and what you're putting in your body. Reading labels can be a pain for a little while, but it's really important to learn what you're putting in your body and stay clean. 

Q4What is your favorite way to stay active?

I (Jon) am a cyclist by heart. I've been riding for about 4 years and have racked up almost 12,000 miles on the road. :) It's my favorite way to stay fit and active. I started my weight loss journey by cycling and lost about 42 lbs doing so. The other 45+ lbs has been through diet alone.

Q5What are your go-to keto recipes?

We LOVE making new things on our own! I (Jon) really enjoy cooking and experimenting with cooking, so there's never a dull moment in our meal-life. :) We even added a BUNCH of recipes to our book "Keto Guide for Beginners" that we created!

Q6What is your favorite Keto Bars product and flavor?

Q7What book have you reads that's had a positive impact on your life?

Heather and I are christians. We have been saved by the blood of Christ through His death on the cross. Our bibles (God's Word) are the most important book in our lives. We live by it, we study it, and we look to it for guidance in every area of our lives. It never changes and it never fails.
